earthwork sculpture
yesterday while i was making dinner my husband and daughter were outside doing yard work. we have lots of trees that have dropped limbs over the winter and they were gathering them all from around our yard, i figured they were just putting them in a pile as usual.
this morning as i returned from my daily walk, i walked up through our back yard and found this lovely earthworks sculpture that they had made. clearly inspired by one of my favorite artists- andy goldsworthy- they made this sweet sea of sticks intentionally placed around a tree. you can imagine what joy this brought me!

my little beauty hunter
when we started beauty everyday, my husband and i explored the south together. nearly every weekend we would hop in the car and head to the country or a place we had never been, and we always seemed to find some beauty. six years later we are still exploring now with our 5 year old adventure lover in tow.
thankfully our daughter enjoys it just as much as us and has always had an interest in the camera. this past christmas she got an instant film camera and has been taking it with her wherever she goes. it's been quite magical watching her sparkle with excitement when she takes each picture and studying it as it develops.

Magnolia Fairy
this year for halloween, my daughter maypop chose to be a nature fairy. i have to say i was waiting for the day to make a fairy costume. this week we have been collecting ingredients to make her costume with. this southern nature fairy is going to be covered in magnolia leaves and handing out acorns. i can't wait! happy halloween y'all!
